There are many things to do and see on Boracay Island. Almost every conceivable water sport can be found in this location such as swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, skim boarding, and kite boarding to name a few. The most popular attraction, the White Beach, is free and open to the public. A golf course and horse riding stables can also be found on Boracay Island as well. number of festivals take place throughout the year at this location. The Philippine Dragon Boat Federation typically host races in either May or April and another popular spring activity on the island is the Ultimate Frisbee tournament.
Boracay Island Accommodations
There are plenty of accommodations to choose from on the island. Hotels in Boracay Island range from budget based establishments to five star resorts, so there is something here for everyone. Renting an apartment is another option at this location. It is, however, suggested that all travelers make their reservations directly with their chosen hotel as scams have otherwise been known to happen. Travelers seeking a relaxing vacation atmosphere rather than a lively one should select accommodations that are past the White Beach’s boat station 3 and avoid the central party district at station 2.
Getting To Boracay Island
Flights from either Cebu or Manila to the island will take about an hour. Arriving at Godofredo P. Ramos Airport or the Kalibo International Airport is only the first part of the journey. Travelers will then have to arrange for transport to the Caticlan Jetty Port in order to catch the ferry to Boracay Island. Those who land at the Godofredo Airport can easily walk to the port in about ten minutes but those who land at Kalibo will have an hour and 20 minute ride ahead of them before they reach the ferry port.
